Georges d'Andlau is President of the French Platform for Fair Trade since June 2006. Agricultural engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique, Grignon, he was Operational Director at the French Development Agency between 1985 and 2006.



Gaëlle Balineau is an economist. She defended her PhD thesis at Cerdi (Centre for Studies and Research on International Development, Clermont-Ferrand, France) in 2010, titled “Is Fair Trade a development tool?”. The impact evaluation of the “Fairtrade cotton project” in Mali was an important part of her research. She is currently a consultant for various organizations (the World Bank and the Ferdi, in particular). Her research interests include fair trade, aid for trade, and trade and climate change.


Amina Béji-Bécheur is Deputy Director of the Institute of Management Research, University of Paris-Est since 2010. Her research interests focus on understanding organizational innovation supported by actors of the social economy such as SCIC (Sociétés coopératives d'intérêt collectif) or fair trade actors.



Vivien Blanchet is a PhD candidate at the department “Research in Management”, University of Paris Dauphine. His research focuses on the relationship between management and critics. More precisely, he studies how fair trade and ethical trade are built as a social products.


 

Aurélie Carimentrand is Assistant Professor of economics at the department « Carrières Sociales », IUT Michel de Montaigne. She is also an Associate Professor at the Laboratoire « Aménagement, développement, environnement et société » (ADES), CNRS and University of Bordeaux 3. As a specialist of fair trade and alternative economies, she is Vice President of FairNESS France.


Jean-René Cuzon is programme manager at the Strategic Steering and Forward-looking (PSP) Department of the French Development Agency (AFD), where he is more specifically in charge of the « Trade and Development », « Regional Integration », and « Food Security » issues. Before joining the AFD, Jean-René Cuzon worked for 14 years as a technical assistant, mainly in West Africa.



Patrick Guillaumont is President of the Fondation pour les études et recherches sur le développement international (Ferdi) and Professor Emeritus at the University of Auvergne. He founded Cerdi (Centre d’études et de recherches sur le développement international) in 1976, and is Director of the Revue d’économie du développement.


Benjamin Huybrechts is Assistant Professor at HEC Management School, University of Liege (Belgium). He is the holder of the SRIWSowecsom Chair in Social Enterprise Management. B. Huybrechts is a member of the Centre for Social Economy (directed by Prof. Jacques Defourny), belongs to several academic networks and is President of FairNESS. He has published several articles and a book (Routledge, 2012) on Fair Trade social enterprises.



Alain de Janvry is Professor of agricultural & resource economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He has conducted field research in Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, and in the Indian subcontinent, focusing, among other topics, on rural development and technological innovations in agriculture. He is Senior Fellow at Ferdi since 2010.




Jaime de Melo is Professor at the University of Geneva since 1993 and Senior Fellow at Ferdi since 2011. His research focuses on links between regionalism and multilateralism, trade policies and migratory policies, trade and environment.



Ruerd Ruben is Professor of development economics at Centre for International Development Issues (CIDIN) of Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands). He lived and worked for 14 years in several Central American countries being engaged in programs of land reform, cooperative development and smallholder agriculture. In 2006 he obtained the chair in development studies at Radboud University Nijmegen to conduct further research on voluntary organizations and the impact of fair trade value chains. Since 2010 he is also the director of the independent Policy and Operations Evaluation Department (IOB) at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



Julie Stoll is for 3 years the General Delegate of the French Platform for Fair Trade, the leading French association for dialogue and representation in this sector. Graduated from the London School of Economics in development economics, Julie Stoll previously worked during three years for the CCFD-Terre Solidaire. She also worked during four years for Pluto Press (a UK publisher) where she directed several series of scientific works on sustainable development.



Isabelle Vagneron is researcher at Cirad (Laos), in the Department of Environment and Society. Her fields of interest include the study of fair trade, its modalities and its impacts in the South.
